The History
The first silver and bronze valve trumpets took a long time to develop and are one of the oldest brass instruments. They were founded in the grave of King Tut in Egypt, and other ancient versions were found in China, South America, Scandinavia, and Asia. It's one of the first brass instruments to be created. Although the first trumpets can be tracked back to 1500 B.C.
Creators of The Valves
The First attempt at the valve trumpet was Charles Clagget in 1788, which wasn't quite successful.
The Second attempt was by Heinrich Stoelzel and Friedrich Bluhmel, and is the valve trumpet that lead to the piston valve we now use today.
In 1832, Joseph Reidlin invented the rotary valve although it is only used in the eastern parts of Europe.
The piston valve is the most popular trumpet that is used today, it was invented by Francois Perinet in 1839
All of these men, helped make valve trumpets what they are today, if it weren't for any of there contributions we wouldn't have the great product that we now use all the time.
